Dr. M.A.M.
Shukry
Dr.
Shukry was the driving force behind the success of the Naleemia
International Islamic University in Sri Lanka, a prominent, well
respected personality in Sri Lanka and currently the Executive
Director of the University and actively involved in various social
and welfare project in the country.
He has
held various positions as a Lecturer, Head of the Departments in the
University of Kelaniya and University of Pradeniya prior to assume
responsibility as the director of Jamiah Naleemiah, Beruwela in
1981.
He has
given lectures and presentations at various world conferences and
seminars around the world and he is the proud author of more than 14
books published in various field in Sri Lanka. In addition to that,
Dr.Shukri is currently engaged with government and non government
organizations as a member of Advisory councils and he is one of the
advisors of National Advisory Council to Combat Crimes appointed by
H.E. Chandrika Bandaranayake Kumaratunga, the former President of
Sri Lanka.
A
graduate from the University of Ceylon in 1965, Dr. Shukri was
awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to follow a Post graduate course
in the University of Edinburgh, UK in 1973 and awarded Ph.D by the
University of Edinburgh, UK in 1976.
